Comfortable, smart rooms with friendly service in a good location, let down by poor room design
Recently done up, comfortable firm bed, great location for the Grand Palais, friendly staff, good local places for breakfast and other meals, in a highly walkable part of Paris.
Details of room design. Room was small with a big bed. Paris hotels can be skilled at dealing with that, making efficient use of every centimetre with good furniture design etc. This one doesn't have that skill, so there's nowhere to put anything and the room feels smaller than it needs to. Also when looking out from the front of the hotel, there seem to be at least three loud refuse collections in the early morning every day.
